Why chain replay matters
A live option chain only shows you the present moment. Replay lets you scrub back through every captured snapshot to see exactly what the chain looked like at any point in the past — strike-by-strike open interest, IV and premium, not a reconstruction or estimate. That makes it possible to check how positioning actually evolved around a specific move, expiry, or event, instead of relying on memory or a single end-of-day summary.
How to use this page
- Jump to a date/time — pick any captured moment directly.
- Prev / Next / Play — step through snapshots one at a time, or auto-play through a stretch of history.
- Scrub bar — drag to any point across the full captured history.
- Expiry tabs — switch between expiries listed at that snapshot's moment; the chain and stats (PCR, max pain, ATM IV, OI) update per expiry.
Methodology & data
Every strike, open interest, IV and mark price shown is exactly as captured at that moment — this is a scrub-through of stored snapshots, not a live view or a reconstruction. Premiums are Deribit's own mark price (BTC-denominated), converted to USD using that snapshot's own spot price. History goes back to when capture started; free, full history, no paywall.
How far back does this history go?
Back to when our chain capture began — the exact start date and total days covered are shown in the recording banner above. Coverage grows daily as new snapshots are captured.
Is this a live feed or historical data?
Historical — every snapshot shown is exactly as it was captured at that timestamp. For live data, see the BTC hub or any of the live pages (gamma, volatility, spread).
What premium convention is used?
Deribit's own mark price, denominated in BTC at the exchange, converted to USD using that specific snapshot's spot price — not last-traded price.
Can I compare positioning across different expiries at the same moment?
Yes — the expiry tabs let you switch between every expiry that was listed at the selected snapshot, with stats (PCR, max pain, ATM IV, OI) recalculated per expiry.
